Bobino Bagel opens second store after success at first location

Bobino Bagel at 61 rue Laurier has become very successful since its opening in 2024. On Tuesday, September 22, the store officially opened its second location at 200 rue Bellehumeur in Old Gatineau with an event that included a visit and free bagel samples for invitees.
Bobino Bagel’s success at its first store played a big role in opening a second location, said co-owner Alexandre Van Dieren, as the Laurier location has been supported and loved by many Outaouais residents, and opening a second location allows it to keep growing. “We were extremely surprised by the interest in our first location, and we hit a production capacity limit where we couldn’t meet the demands from our first location anymore,’’ he said.
Van Dieren told the Bulletin that his new location has a factory in the back, which is a new addition. The factory is not available at the first location, and it allows them to triple the bagel production. Bobino Bagel did a survey in 2025, and the results showed that a good number of their supporters and buyers were from the Old Gatineau area, which impacted their decision to open the second store.
The new location is connected to La Trappe à Fromage, which temporarily closed for renovations. The two locations merged into one, celebrating the grand opening and reopening of the two stores and giving Gatineau residents a variety of different meals to enjoy.
Bobino Bagel is focused on making the second location as active as the first, but Van Dieren promised that they would work hard to keep growing and open new locations to meet the demand from supporters across the region.
Bobino Bagel and La Trappe à Fromage are now open at 200 rue Bellehumeur.
